For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the LORD and to practice {it,} and to teach {His} statutes and ordinances in Israel. Ezra 7:10
We had the privilege to have with us two speakers that have been much appreciated for their biblical understanding and depth and for their love for the Lord.
This conference confronted two fundamental issues that impact anyone involved in ministry.
Dr. Larry McCall taught on “Humility: a necessary trait to the service of the Church and the dangers of pride.” Humility is essential for anyone who desires for their ministry to be blessed by the Lord, while pride is a sin that endangers every follower of Christ. Larry has been a much appreciated speaker. This was evident at the 2001 FOCUS Conference, where he spoke about being a servant-leader. His teaching, loving and profound, is also immensely practical.
Pastor Carey Hardy taught on “The biblical principles for the care of families in the Church.” Family care is a subject that closely touches every aspect of Church ministry. We live in a society where biblical principles of family life are trampled upon more and more and our churches must care for individuals who are living the consequences of these sins.
The morning meditations were lead by Pastor William Standridge, while Maria Teresa Standridge ministered to the women.
We praise the Lord because we were all blessed by this Conference. He has helped us understand with much more clarity how to know and apply the biblical principles to our lives and our ministries.
